“The Con” is the fifth album for the Canadian twin sisters, but, more importantly, it is their first for a major label. And the critics are enjoying the Chris Walla-produced disc, with more than one calling it their best record to date.

The Guardian reports that Sanctuary is selling off its 49% stake in the legendary Rough Trade label to Beggars Group for over $1.5 million. The move saves Rough Trade from being associated with Universal Music Group, which will soon take over Sanctuary pending approval by the latter’s shareholders.
